The Evansville Downtown Arena in Evansville, IN, is a six-level, 200,000-square-foot entertainment venue. The arena can be converted into several seating configurations for hockey and basketball games, end stage concerts, and center stage events. The location has a Seismic Design—Category D, so it required a lateral resisting system that was composed of special resisting concrete shear walls and special concentrically braced frames. IDS’s scope of work for this project included 3D-member structure modeling, applying connections on the 3D model, and the production of structural steel shop and erection drawings.
