Northwest Independent Middle School in Haslet, TX, is a new independent school building for grades 6 through 8. The two-story building contains classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, fine arts facilities, a collaboration area, additional multipurpose rooms, and a storm shelter area. IDS used SDS/2 to detail the structure’s wide-flange and HSS beams and columns, WT sections, angles, HSS-braced frames, and various AESS members, as well as its miscellaneous steel: stairs, ladders, and embed plates.
